I just saw you're from the UK.. You can book a buying for baby session i think it's called in John Lewis and try different prams. It'll be very helpful to get a feel for them.
@Monika thankyou but this has made it sound even more complicated. I don’t have lots of space in my house, I will be taking it in and out of the car, my budget is not a lot but I will spend what I need to get something reliable and safe. I want something light convenient easy to put up and down, I wouldn’t be using public transport much. I have a few steps up to my house but actually stairs I wouldn’t be carrying it up stairs I would just leave it down stairs
@Monika oh brilliant I will do this
@Amira oh sorry, i didn't mean to make it harder on you. Just wrote stuff I wish I had considered bedore buying. If you know what you'll be doing with it then the session in John Lewis should definitely be helpful. If I were you I'd be looking for a lightweight, easy to fold buggy suitable from birth. Something like the Joie litetrax for example. Sorry again for making it more confusing for you, wasn't my intention
Oh no u didn’t make it harder it just all seems very overwhelming sometimes. U have really helped me Alhamduliah I’m going to book an appointment in John Lewis and go have a look at things with my husband in sha allah x
It's normal to be worried, feel free to ask your midwife any specific questions especially around safety, if you're unsure. I found that very reassuring x InshAllah the appointment will help. Hope you guys have a great time xx
If you have a Mama and Papa's store, they do appointments as well where you can speak to a store assistant and try out different prams. They also give you a voucher towards your purchase if you spend a certain amount.
We went for the Ocarro. We love it because it's sturdy and has large wheels for country walks etc. The downside is that it is big and heavy so it does take a lot of space in the boot of our car. I tend to use it when I am with my husband otherwise I use my baby carrier.
@Shahina I walked into mammas and papas one day and looked and walked straight out very expensive in there and was afraid to touch things
But there is one close so I will consider it, we looked up some prams today and went for a walk and now we can spot the fancy ones seen a few eggs around but don’t think I’ll be springing for one of those lol
The best advice I can give you is to read the reviews before buying on Google, the company's website, and Amazon is possible. You want to make sure you're getting something lightweight, easy to fold, etc.
There are a few things to consider... budget, how much space do you have in your house for storage, do you have step free access to that space, will you be putting the buggy in a car or only using it on the road and public transport to begin with... I have an iCandy Lime and absolutely love it. It's a very sturdy buggy, it has large storage under, cool accessories and folds fairly easily. However, it is quite large and heavy. For me it's not a problem most of the time but I can imagine if I had stairs or something that would be a very big problem.
