Mine was an hour, was about toddler groups I could also take newborn too, feeding support as I plan to breastfeed again, safe sleep, basics like not leaving the cats unattended near the kids. Also spoke about the service as it’s changed now to cover until they are 19 and gave me numbers to use if I had any questions/concerns that didn’t need a doctor. Also about what support you have. I let my husband work as it was all things I could answer so didn’t feel like he needed to be there x
No, I wouldn’t bother to get your husband to rearrange work. Ours was a general chat, very casual, more an introduction and telling me the purpose of the HV and what to expect. It was only 15-20 minutes long. They will answer any questions you have and tell you about local breastfeeding support, safe sleep and the importance of skin to skin.
No I wouldn’t bother with trying to get your husband there. It’s about safe sleep, contraception, mood/MH, support systems, pets safety, feeding, that sort of thing. They do also like to see you without your partner on occasion to check that you are safe etc.
No I wouldn’t bother at all. Mine was around 15 minutes. She said I’m just going to ask you the same questions the midwife does 😂 she asked me if I was safe, talked about safe sleep and asked how I was going to feed. That was about it
I've had a pre-birth visit and it was mostly just what kind of support I can expect and info so I could decide if it was the right pathway for me. My husband was home but working and I just left him in the other room as it was all about me and what I would need from a HV. It took about 30-45 mins
