First bike

Could anyone recommend a first bike (with no pedal on it) for an 18mo? Many I see on Amazon look either to heavy, or seem to have too wide wheels on the back. If possible, I’m interested in experience, and not what you are ‘planning to buy’ as a first bike. Also, are they supposed to use these types of bikes with a helmet?

We have these for our twins. I think we got them at 18 months. They practiced steering and walking with them until they got a little more height to sit on the seat. Really lovely and durable. My nephew had one similar and once he mastered gliding on this, went straight to a peddle bike. They’re really good for teaching kids. And yea we use helmets. More to make the association and habit but also the occasional collision ☺️ https://kinderkraft.co.uk/products/tove?color=pink&gna=adga&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAABSgGZ0kyZmt-PpHlqR9Y-tFbnRGI&gclid=CjwKCAiA3ZC6BhBaEiwAeqfvyv4UWHT6CuDMehGDlRhFh8qWj3Z04Ob5UrbUOJmerTftJNjQxVqv6RoC7lMQAvD_BwE

This bike has been brilliant. It’s lightweight and so easy to carry

And I would definitely recommend a helmet. We have a rule of no cycling/scooting unless helmet is on

Thanks Camilla and Lauren. Is this type really good as a very first bike? I thought it should be one that stands on its own, so that it’s easier to balance it.
