First midwife appointment

I have my first midwife appointment today. Can anyone tell me if I get to listen to my baby’s heartbeat at the first appointment?

I didn’t get to hear mine until 16 odd weeks or something I don’t think. I did get to see it st a private scan which was better in my opinion anyway lol.

You don’t listen to heartbeat until about 16 + weeks at midwife app , you’ll have a urine sample , blood pressure , weight , height and blood test done , they’ll go through family history and your history etc xx

Good to know! Thank you 😊

No it’s too early at the moment chick it was wayyyyyy later when I got to hear it

I didn’t get to hear the heartbeat at 30 weeks with the midwife before that I only heard it through private scans. I did get told around 16 weeks you can hear it though

No you don’t hear the heartbeat until 16 weeks x

From 16 weeks onwards

Some places don't try at 16 weeks as it can be quite hard, they leave it until 20 weeks.

My midwife did it at 16 weeks but I’d already had 2 private scans and heard it there (7 weeks & 13 weeks). If you want to hear it sooner I got a private scan at 7 weeks at Hey Baby was £45. It’s short but you just need to see and hear baby at that point they are a blob!

Not until I was 16 weeks 😊

Didn’t hear mine until 25 week scan.

Nope. They won't do it this early. Will be too hard to detect, and the last thing they want to do is panic you, when they can't find it

I’m sure you hear it at your 12 week scan
