Okh, it sometimes happen when 2 pets are together but I think with time they would get used to it. Names can be jenson, Jerry, jelly, Jamesy or jolly. Yours one is nice too ‘jinx’.
Keep them in separate room xx
Please please never leave your children alone with the kitten. Young children don’t know how to regulate their strength and it’s very common for toddler to accidentally strangulate kittens (killing them or disabling them for the lack of oxygen to their brain). For the dog, never leave the kitten unsupervised and try to get the dog accustomed to him slowly (praise sans treats when he behaves well etc)
They are never left alone the kitten has his own room with baby gate but also can’t keep them separate won’t be fair on our dog if he is kept behind the baby gate he is getting praised my dog is very friendly but a pest 🤦♀️
Personally keeping them separate was the worse thing I could have done with mine in terms of our dog and cat. What ended up happening was the dog would bully my cat because they had no time to bond from young. I would personally have them socialise while you are there so you can correct the dogs behaviour and keep them separate when you are not there. Also when the dog is being good and listens to you be over the top with praise and treats. When I introduce my cat and dog again I’d literally have my dog lying down the whole time while the cat wondered around the room freely and if the dog got up, I would tell him to lay down again. Seemed to work in the end. With the kids just keep them in sight the whole time and tell them to be gentle, hopefully they catch on soon.
@Danielle oh yeah I am not keeping them separate keep introducing them supervised x
@Raven sorry I meant in relation to some comments or if you were considering it but fair enough, you’ll find what works best for you in the end anyway. The dog and cat will be best friends before you know it x
Give Kitty some places to sleep that are high up so they always have a choice if they need time out 😻
Just don’t leave him unsupervised at all, give him his own space when you’re out. Cats are very independent and inquisitive - but he needs his own space so he feels safe x
