Formula feeding - nuby rapid

Is anyone using the nuby rapid cool to do a hot shot method when making a bottle? If so, could you talk me through how you’re doing it please? Just want to make sure I’m getting it right!

Yeah we are! You have to have 90ml minimum in the Nuby for it to work. We are currently only on 90 or 120ml feeds so we put 90ml of water in the Nuby and set that to amber, and then do a 30ml hot shot into the sterilised bottle & mix in the 3/4 scoops of formula as needed. Then when the Nuby is ready, pour in either 60ml if making 90ml feed (& chuck the rest of the water) or the whole lot if making 120ml feed. Hope that makes sense!! We’ll probs up the hotshot as her feeds get bigger

@Lily thank you! And do you find it’s the right temperature when it’s ready? Mine still feels a little hot but I’m pretty sure I’ve done it exactly the same as you - 30ml hot shot for a 120ml bottle with the rest going in the nuby x

@Jules yeah we find the temperature is fine even with the 90ml feeds! Weird, but we haven’t had any complaints from baby so🤣 If we do anything under 90ml we don’t bother with Nuby just make it normally & cool it in a bowl of water

@Jules yes I am .. saves waiting half an hour for the water to cool down. I’m doing 120ml feeds right now . My baby likes the milk on the warm side so the temp works out fine

Is it not just easier to make the feed in the Nuby? That’s how I’ve always seen it done

@Georgia yeah but then you have to sterilise the Nuby after every use. By doing it the hot shot way only boiling water ever goes in it so it doesn’t need sterilising :)

@Lily ah okay that makes sense!
