I switched from breastmilk to coconut milk. Just straight swapped it out. Started with the milk before naps. I'm still nursing before bedtime, but that will end soon.
thinking of doing exactly the same thing! I'm curious which milk would be considered the most nutrient dense, i.e if oat milk had more benefits over almond etc.!
I am going to pick a milk and then start doing half and half bottles of plant based and formula until entirely plant based milk.
I was doing pea milk for the protein. Our pediatrician recommended adding coconut milk for the fat content to help brain development. @Elise
@Samantha ah ok that's great to know. Does your kid eat a lot of dairy? My baby loves cheese / yogurt ect so I'm wondering if she's getting enough protein already...
He loves cheese and yogurt, too. So his doctor wasn't worried about missing calcium from cow's milk! He also eats meat and beans so he definitely gets protein. I love the stage from 12-18 months when my kids actually eat and aren't so picky 😅
Swapped to Ripple my little man loved it! He actually finishes bottles now! We’re so happy to be off Nutramigen.
@Sage Jones I've seen this brand, what is the milk base like is it almond / oat etc?
@Elise ripple is pea protein!
I transitioned yesterday, not homemade, but she did go from infant milk to oat milk. She drink it regularly as if it was her formula milk.
