Piercing babies ears

When did you guys pierced your babies ears and how did your baby react after? My baby is 7 months and I want to get her ears pierced but I’m scared the soreness is gonna mess with her sleep and she’s gonna pull on her ears

My mom had my daughter’s ears pierced when she was 5 1/2 months old. I asked the person that pierced the ears how soon can babies get them pierced and she said a week after they are born. That it is better to get them done sooner rather than later because it’s more painful when they’re older

I got my baby’s ears done after her first shots at 3 months she cried for a little bit overall healing didn’t cry

We did 2.5months. We got the ok from her pediatrician for 2 weeks after her 2m shots

My daughter didn’t have any soreness, it was basically apart of her, she forgets she has them. She’s now 7 months and she does pull her ear sometimes when she’s upset but not on her earring

Pediatrician said no earlier because they need their immunizations first

I pierced my babies ears at 4 months

The younger the better . It hurts less for babies

I wanted to for my son but when he is tired he pulls his ears sooo I’m waiting

My hubs wants to get our 7 month old's pierced but I worry about the tugging and possible infection from constant touching and pulling. Id rather wait until she understands what "no" means or a better understanding of not touching it too much.

Yes @Gracie is 100% right. The younger the better. Babies heal faster and they don’t mess with it. My baby cried for like 5min and then ate and forgot about it. Never fussed when we cleaned them. Now she’s 7m and they’re completely healed

It doesn't hurt them less. It hurts the same whether they are 1 or 50. Wait until they can tell you if they want holes in their ears, it's their body. The fact that you feel you have the right to do that is awful. My daughter got hers done at 2 after she told me she wanted them pierced. It was her big reward for getting potty trained. She got to pick whatever she wanted and she said she wanted pretty ears like mommy. I explained what they would do and she still wanted it done. She never messed with them (since she couldnt see it all the time she forgot they were there) and did good when we had to clean them 3 times a day. I couldn't imagine trying to clean them on a baby.

@Alyssa well thank goodness we all make our own choices. We’re not here to judge or tell people what choice to make. A choice other moms have made may not be the same as yours 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Courtney then why doesn't that child have a choice whether or not they get holes in their ears?

@Alyssa with all the respect to your opinion, but do you think a 2 year old understands what choice she made ! Im sure if your girl saw another girl wearing lipstick she would want to try it too. I’m sure she didnt understand that by getting an earring she’s getting her body pierced! So to me it sound like you just delayed the process because your baby still doesn’t understand the choice she made.

We got my baby’s ear pierced when she was 4 months old I remember the lady said to be careful if the baby is over 5 months old because they would try to pick their ears, so just pay attention to that part. And good luck

@Alyssa nothing you said has anything to do with what OP asked. She didn’t ask for your opinion and frankly no one did. Did your momma not teach you, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all? Sometimes we should really keep our mouths closed, and Bless your heart, i think this is one of those times.
