Chicken pox baby number 2

Mums who have a child who’s had chicken pox and have a baby. My little one is 3 and a half now and has chicken pox. I have a 5 month old who is EBF. I had the immunisation for chicken pox when I was a child. Is it still likely my 5 month old will get it or is there the possibility that he won’t get it given my immunisation as a kid. What’s your experience in this situation? ♥️

My 3 year old had chicken pox when my youngest baby girl was 4 week old back in June 2024 and she luckily didn't catch it of her sister but my nephew he's had chicken pox because he caught it from one of his other cousins at 6 month old and my sister said it was easier for him to have chicken pox at that ahe as opposed to having them older when they moaning about it all time haha xx

My 6 year old had it, passed to my 3 year old and then my 2 month old got it as well. They said it weakens as it passes through siblings and the baby did have it very mildly. I was told if they have it before 1 they may get it again xx

@Katie okay good and bad here 😂 good that it was very mild! My 3 year old has had it quite severely. All in and around her vagina. Up every hour in the night for 2 nights (although this is the first day she’s finally a bit more normal so I think we’ve seen the worst of it). Bad your 2 month old got it. We’re/are they breastfed? Have you had chickenpox or the immunisation? ♥️

Haha sorry 🙈😅 your poor little one and you, sounds rough! Really hope she is over the worst. Somehow I think we were ‘lucky’ it took my eldest so long to catch it when it did the rounds at school a few times before she caught it and then had it mildly think total spots was around 20, youngest very few and didn’t seem to phase him too much. The older 2 were exclusively breastfed until 16 months and just over 2. My youngest was breastfed but in the early days had a bottle of formula a day. Hope you get a better night xx
