Nutriprem 2

Hi so whilst in Nicu my daughter was only on EBM but when discharged she wasn’t gaining weight as the nurses wanted so suggested I added Nutriprem 2 into feeds. Since I’ve been giving her it I’ve noticed a change when she poos it’s really smelly and thick. Has anyone else’s baby been on this and noticed ?

Hello, I think this is just introducing formula in general it changes consistency of the poo!

@Nicola thank u ! I was just a bit worried. She also seems to be in pain when going. Hopefully it settles once she’s more used to it x

We had to introduce formula for the same reason and noticed this, also he got a little constipated

@Katie yes she’s going a lot less. Was going regularly on EBM but now once every 3/4 days. Does it pass ? I really didn’t want her to be on fomula and it’s really putting me off giving it to her x

My twins were on EBM and then moved onto Nutriprem 2 liquid. When they were discharged on Nutriprem powder, they became constipated which never happened before. I spoke to my HV who advised to ask he doc if they'd be happy to prescribe the Powder AND the liquid and alternate them. Something to do with how the sugars are dissolved in the liquid makes them less likely to become constipated :)

I had to move onto nutriprem 2 for the same reason! My baby was also constipated so they prescribed liquid nutriprem 2 as well as the powder and that helped a lot! There was no constipation after that but defo smelly poos x

Hi, we were exactly the same. We switched to sma gold prem 2 at about 11 weeks and his poos completely changed colour and consistency

@Keya I just rang the nicu as we are still being seen by them and they said liquid nitriprem can’t be prescribed to me as it’s hospital use only :( xx

It's your gp that will prescribe it. I just said to them that the powder is causing constipation. Each GP is different though but I had no problems with mine x

My GP prescribed liquid too as I said she wasn’t getting on with the powder…
