Midwives

Is anyone else's midwife/hospital just absolutely shocking? I have been trying to contact my midwife for about 2 weeks now as I have not heard anything about my csection and don't have a midwife appointment booked for my 31 weeks, which I am 31 weeks next week. I have left messages and calls with my community midwife hub and get the same answer every time, "we will get someone to call you back," and it never happens. I was just wondering if anyone else is struggling with communication?

Have you tried ringing the actual community hub number? You have to leave a message but they normally ring you back. I know that you won't get a c section date until about a month before

@Sammi 💖 Yes, I have. I leave a message and haven't had a call back... always leave my name and number as well. I dont want to seem rude to them as I know they're busy. I'm a first time mum and just quite anxious, haha.

I ended up changing midwives due to my initial one being just shockingly bad đŸ«  She didn’t contact me at all from 9+2 until 19+1 and I couldn’t get hold of her cause I had no contact details for her. When I eventually saw her it was just excuse after excuse and she didn’t refer me for the quad screening either so I was almost denied the chance to find out if my girl was likely to have Downs as she wouldn’t move to get the NT measurement on the 12 week scan, luckily the antenatal clinic called me on the day I was 20 weeks as they were concerned I hadn’t had the screening! My husband put his foot down and was adamant we changed midwives and it’s the best thing we could have done so if you’re not feeling supported I’d definitely recommend doing the same and it’s a really easy process too â˜ș x

i missed my 38 week check up and other important ones as she didnt book me in. i only found out i had gestational diabetes on my due date when i was meant to be seen at week 20 something. I didnt hear back from her over text when id ask for advice and when i got discharged from my ward after my C section the midwives had just moved half my belongings to SCBU (leaving my shoes and phone charger and food under the bed) then asked who i was when i was going back into the ward to collect my items ( whilst still wearing the gown and stockings) i felt completely alone and was not told i was being discharged that day luckily my partner took me home in the car even though i could not walk still. this all happened 5 weeks ago!

id also ring the buzzer and noone came for over half an hour sometimes as it was busy during the nightshifts, i understand its a hard job in NHS hospitals but the ward i was on was not full and all the staff would just hover at the reception desk. but im sure not all hospitals all like this x
