Salt dough

I’ve attempted to make cute presents for the grandparents using salt dough. I’ve made ‘plaques’ with my babies hand print, footprint and her name. They have been in the oven for agesss (about 5-6 hours) at 50 degrees, but the bottoms still seem doughy. I even flipped them but no luck. Out of pure desperation, I whacked the oven up to 125 degrees for about 30 mins and now some have puffed up! Are these revivable? I’d hate to have to start again, it was hard enough to get the 4 I already have with a wriggly 4 month old🤣

My sister had the same problem. She said it was because it was you thick? I haven't had time to do mine yet. I was planning to let them air dry but I might wait to hear what anyone else says first and just abandon it haha

You could try Cornflour dough apparantly it's easier and doesn't crack in years to come. I did salt dough yesterday but I'm going to try the Cornflour aswell x

I’ve had the same problem, mine were in oven for 6 hours. Painted them and then they went soft. Apparently you can buy clay from Amazon ect and that is easier and better to cook/ paint x
