Christmas dinner for a 6 month old

I want to make Christmas dinner as good as I can for my baby who will be just turning 6 months at Christmas. Obviously he wont be very familiar with foods and I want to prepare it the day before to make it easier. Any tips on what to give him and how to prepare? Much appreciated

He can have pretty much everything you are having just served safely! Check out the solid starts app. He can chew on strips of turkey, longer fingers of cooked vegetables such as carrot (no honey), try spoons of mash. You could skip the gravy if youre worried about salt although a little would be okay

Mine eats a roast dinner every Sunday anyway so it won’t be any different for him.. only difference will be a pig in blanket for him 😂

Is it blended down?

@Emma I don’t blend his food anymore. He had purees for about 2 months and then now he does BLW and lumpy purees I just kind of mash it a little x

Gravy I wouldn’t as it’s very high in salt. (Or just in a little bowl to dip his food if he can) Other stuff on the plate I would cut into smaller portions and make it hand held size. I would also say if you’ve got enough to make a blended version just incase he doesn’t like anything and spread it on toast so he can get the flavour

Or mix it in with pasta 🤣

Avoid anything with high salt! So gravy etc. and pigs in blankets can be high in sodium as well! For veg if you’re doing purées you can mash it up, we do a combo of homemade puree and BLW so I plan to do carrots/parsnips in stick form, with mashed potatoes and broccoli and then serving finger food chicken to her!

If you make your gravy yourself from meat drippings you should be okay to give to baby but anything from granules can be far too much sodium x
