Measuring big

Has anyone been told or had experience in a previous pregnancy of measuring big on the bump measurement? Were you sent for a growth scan?

I was in my first and with this one too and was sent for growth scans previously and being sent for them again, already got 3 booked in x

I measured “big” with my first little boy and got sent for a growth scan and he was an average size, then got sent again for being too big at like 34 weeks and they actually found out he dropped in centiles so had another growth scan 2 weeks after that where he went back up

Was baby measuring big on the scans?

But you have to be measuring over 3cm bigger if it’s only like 1/2 they class it as normal

Bump measurements are really inaccurate. I measured small in my previous pregnancy, went for a growth scan and he was actually measuring too big. By the time I had my final growth scan, they were happy with the growth again and he was a healthy 7lb 14oz.

I measured big 3 times during my first pregnancy & was given scans for them all only to be told in all of them that he was measuring normal & there was no worry. Bump measurements aren’t accurate as there isn’t really a tool used to do so, I wouldn’t worry x

No he wasn’t measuring big he was average on the first one then dropped on the 2nd scan and the 3rd one he was bigger than average but not massive. He was 7lb 12 when he was born

My private scan told me he was absolutely massive though so honestly the scans aren’t 100% accurate either😂😂

I’ve been measuring off the charts both times now and the midwife said shes not worried unless theres a sudden spike. I also had a 4d scan this week and they told me baby is actually 76th percentile so not as big as the belly measurment was making out 🤣 Not sure if i’ll still get sent for a growth scan if belly measurments continue to be big though but i wouldnt worry as they are known to be quite inaccurate x

Yes, my bump measured large my entire pregnancy, between 91 and 99th centile but it never promopted growth scan because some bumps are big and as long as they are following their line then it is okay. I ended up going for a growth scan because of reduced movements and on that he was measuring large as well. They predicted 11lb + but he was born at only 9lbs 8oz via c-section because I was fearmongered into one. For this reason, I am declining fundal heigh measurments and growth scans for my second pregnancy as I just make bigger babies which is okay.. someone has to right? 😂😂 xx
