Yeah they only really call you in if they are worried about something or you need to have blood tests. I was only supposed to see mine at 8 weeks but I needed to do blood tests and and urine tests so I got to see mine twice between then and my next proper appointment in a few weeks
I did have a 16 week appointment with the midwife and I believe it's standard for my local NHS trust. It was fairly short though, she just discussed my blood test results with me and asked how everything was going. I would call your midwife if you are unsure if you should have one 😊
Yes you should be offered a 16 week appointment. It’s very short but they ask you about movements, check your blood pressure and urine, give you info about next appointments and how to get your MatB1 form. They also ask how you are etc. It’s a standard appointment: https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/ Deffo give your midwife a ring! Xx
Mine was just a quick phone call to ask how things were 🤷♀️ at the 12 week scan I was told she would come out and I’d be able to listen to baby’s heartbeat but because I’m high risk I ended up with a scan instead
Yeah you should have had a 16 week appointment it’s more like a meeting your MDW and discussing any blood work and any up coming appointments. For first baby you are seen more, with second and third baby the appointments are so spread out
Thanks everyone! I spoke to my midwife and she said she phoned me at 14 weeks and asked if I had any concerns and that was my “16 week appointment” … I’m meant to be high risk as this is my 6th pregnancy after 5 losses… but hey ho guess they know best 😅👎🏽
I had a midwife appointment around 8 weeks, and then 16 and my next one is when l will be nearly 23 weeks.
