Insurance claims

Partner got in an accident before thanksgiving, apparently the insurance is still looking at it he says. It’s almost Christmas. There was one car involved and one video. Is this true? I think he’s lying to be honest

Sometimes it takes awhile. When I was in a car accident, it was like 6 weeks before I received a check from the insurance company.

Just look it up.

Insurance claims take a while but there’s no way of knowing how long his particular case will take

Why would he be lying in the first place? Do you think he’s lying about other things? Yes this takes a while so he for sure could be telling the truth. But why do you think he’s not

Are you guys suing? Insurance claims can take time.

When you say 1 car involved do you mean like it was just him and he ran into something not another car? or 1 other car involved and him? if someone else is involved they could be trying to determine who was at fault. Or if he was at fault, but doesn’t have enough coverage for all the damage then that can delay things as well

I work in civil litigation, mostly car accidents the first ten years as I worked in plaintiffs litigation before corporate defense. Claims can take years if disputed or especially if there’s legal exposure. And being it’s year end, I can tell you everyone is “circling back” on claims until after holiday.

Insurance claims can take a while, but honestly if you can’t trust him over information in regards to an accident he was in maybe you shouldn’t be with him?

@Glenda I’m aware of that one

I used to work in claims for an insurance company. Depending on the accident, some claims could be handled within a few days while I saw some that took well over a year. It really all depends on the circumstances and who was at fault.
