My midwife came round on Tuesday and did the jaundice blood test. Results show she has got jaundice but it’s not at treatment level. It’s just a case of regularly feeding her so she can flush it out of the system herself. I was petrified about it as well but the midwife has said it’s normal and there’s no concerns. Just keep feeding her and she’s been great ever since
My first born was jaundiced and because her levels were so high she required phototherapy to help clear it. We had to feed her every 3 hours to help flush it through and within about 3 days she was below enough to be removed from the phototherapy machine. Easier said than done, but try not to panic too much - it really is quite common! Sounds like you’ve picked it up fairly quickly which will hopefully just mean lots of feeding to get the levels under control. I now have a very happy and healthy 3 year old girly (who’s desperate to meet her baby sister!)
Yes my little girl had it and had completely cleared by day 10. It’s very normal so don’t worry.
Mine had it too! It's actually quite common. My little guy had light therapy and he was all set within about a week or 2
Yes mine had it, his levels were high enough that he needed light therapy for a few days in the hospital. We were then discharged and had to go to jaundice clinic where his levels were okay and have been discharged
Yes, but her levels didn’t meet the threshold for phototherapy. Took about a week for it to settle down. Please try to not worry x
Mine did :) by day 10 it had almost cleared. He looked worse than he actually was - his numbers were always way under.
