Prune puree worked for my little guy, but if he is not eating purées yet, the juice will work. And @Megan is right also about the prune juice.. make sure it is watered down a lot or be prepared for a fountain of diarrhea later.
my boys never liked the flavor of prune( prune is highly effective tho) instead of fighting them to eat prune things, i’d give them an ounce of 100% pear juice and feed them pear puree. they would poop within 2 hours. worked amazing!
The hospital won’t do anything until day 10 unless there in extreme obvious pain, try the prune purée in bits and pieces if he doesn’t like it x
I wouldn’t give water as it may be making baby more uncomfortable. Formula or breast milk both contain water. Persevere with tummy massages and warm baths I’d say. But it is normal for baby to go over 7-10 days without stool before a medical professional would be concerned per se.
Have you tried gripe water? Xx
My son had constipation issue and I was told after day 5, he should be prescribed laxative by GP. I did so and helped him a lot for 2 weeks then I stopped. Now his bowel is after 2 days max. Sometimes check the formula if he is bottle feed because that was my issue. My son prefers liquid formula than powder
It sounds terrible but try the thermometer trick get trash bags and his diaper ready lay him naked with his diaper on top of a big trash bag pull his but up and stick the thermometer just in hood his checks together and give it maybe 5 min careful cause it will shoot out be prepared I did it to my son when he was like 1 month cause of formula but it’s scary but it works
We have this my son goes 6 days sometimes last week was 7! We have been prescribed lactulose but was told by pharmacy its the same one you can buy over the counter (basically sugar and water) and movicol I find that really work but needs to be prescribed I believe xx
I would try baby prune puree that usually helps pretty quick or even alittle bit of prune juice in a bottle and the rest topped up with water, that’s what my son’s doctor suggested and it seems to help!
