@Natalie i did mention it to HV and at 6 week check but it was shrugged off like it was normal
Oh dear! See, my HV recommended we run it by the doctor, and honestly, I'd do that. It's best to be safe than sorry! Even if the doctor says there's nothing to worry about, then that's great. At least you've been reassured. If anything, I wish I'd gone to the doctors sooner for her sake and ours xx
Look at cow and gate thickener u can give it to Them Before feeding
My little boy also does this- like you, I was advised that as long as he is still gaining weight well and he is happy after vomiting then it’s fine. He doesn’t do it every day, but I found it got much worse when he had a cold and was mucousy. I do also tend to have an oversupply. If I’m feeling engorged I use my haakaa to pump a little before a feed which seems to help.
Just to add I did raise it with my GP at the 6 week check and he said they really don’t like prescribing anything unless the baby is distressed / not gaining weight, because reflux meds make them constipated so the side effects can be worse than what they are currently experiencing. However as I say, we weren’t having vomits every day, so they will ask you about frequency / severity.
@Rosie he went from 11lbs14oz to 12lbs9oz in 6 days so he is putting a lot on 🤣 was 25th centile at birth and now 75th 🙈 he's actually had a little bit of a cough so maybe it will calm down when that goes. Has been sicky from birth though
I'd take the baby to the doctors. I took my little girl cause she was sickly after feeds and hadn't put on the weight needed. She was diagnosed with reflux and given Gaviscon sachets to put in her milk before every feed. It's made a massive difference, and she's only sick every now and again. But now the doctor has diagnosed it, you can really tell she's been suffering with reflux all this time xx
