3 meals and then normally 1/2 snacks depending on where we are and then he always has ‘dessert’ after dinner. He has a 7oz bottle when he wakes up, a 7oz bottle afternoon and an 8oz bottle at bed time. He is dropping the morning bottle though as he only ever drinks 4/5 oz, HV said it’s fine to be on 2 bottles by 8 months but replace the bottle they drop with a calcium snack so he always has yoghurt with breakfast x
I go with when he seems hungry! I know he has 8oz every 4 or 5 hours, if he seems hungrier before then I’ll offer some pouch food or finger foods! Mostly happens in the morning and in the evening before bed! Some days it’s more; some days it’s less!
I think my girl might be ready to move up to 3 meals now but didn't want to do it if it's not really the right time to do it. She has 2 meals currently breakfast and tea. Along with combi feeding throughout the day. I was planning to wait until she's 8months which will be in a few weeks. Thanks for sharing all nice to know we seem to be in similar situations. Only problem now is not only have I got mine and my partners food to think about every week, I've now got to think of more things for little girl haha 😅 xx
@Ella yeah go for it! If she’s seeming hungry for it then worth a try!! You got this😌 xx
Moving to 2 meals at the 8m mark in 2 weeks 🙃
Babies shouldn’t have snacks before 1. It’s on the nhs website and definitely shouldn’t replace bottles.
My just turned 8 month old has porridge each morning or toast then mushed up leftovers of our tea (normally veg, beans, pasta etc) but food at this time is just exploring and for fun! It doesn’t replace bottles so I wouldn’t worry about set meals etc it’s just experimentation for them to get used to textures and flavours 😊
