You honestly need to do what you're comfortable doing! You're never going to get these first few precious days back so if you want to spend them at home then that's what you should do! It's only one year, people can wait! X
Do whatever you want to do / feel comfortable with. My hubbys family had a gathering of extended family when our little girl was 12 days old and I didn’t go because I couldn’t cope with the thought of people asking to hold her and passing her around. With so many bugs flying round this time of year, it just didn’t sit right with me, especially as she already has a cold thanks to her big sister. Don’t think it was a popular decision but at the end of the day, you’re the mama and you need to do what’s best for you and your little one xx
I would educate the ‘room’ on RSV , don’t be shy, be strong for YOUR baby & that’s only if you want to attend, if you’d rather stay at home, then don’t feel negative about this! Be strong for your baby who can’t be strong for themselves, do what’s right for you mama xx
Also you’re not even 2 weeks pp. people literally need to give you some space.
I would say no to socials in bigger groups unless you are really keen to go- so do whatever you want and don’t feel bad about it. People will understand either way as long as you are comfortable that’s the main thing
It's not a must, but you need to do what feels comfortable to you. Put your own rules in place and make people aware. Equally, if you don't want to go explain this. People should respect your wishes as a new mother. X
