Jabs

Does anyone regret giving their baby the 12 month jab? I've heard lots of stories of bad side effects lasting ages and seriously considering not letting my little one have it

I am postponing till later ….anyway I am giving her jabs one by one - not al in one go as scheduled- she is 13 months and so far only had 3 doses of men b one one pneumococcal that’s all

I don’t regret it as they are important and I do believe it is the responsible thing to do to vaccinate your child - but we had a HARD time of it, it’s now 3 weeks later and things are getting better thankfully. If I knew how hard going it would be I would have considered looking into options for spacing them out a little, it’s a lot of vaccines in one go. I suppose it is personal preference whether you would rather get it all out of the way or space it out. Now he is feeling are better it doesn’t feel so bad but we have been left with some bad habits that will need worked on - Like he is sleeping in our bed with us and having his dummy a lot more than he used to.

I haven’t given the vaccines to my son

My 13 month old had hers last Tuesday, she's been absolutely fine we've had no side effects whatsoever

We haven’t had ours yet but I’m giving him the MMR separately to the others. He has reacted to vaccines before so I don’t want to give him four at once. The MMR is recommended anywhere between 12-15 months so it can wait. I don’t think the risk of not having them outweighs the discomfort we might all have from him having the vaccines.

I think it’s important to give the vaccines, we gave our LO his and he had a bad 3 weeks with teething and a cold mixed in but he’s doing great ! He had his 6 weeks ago now and I would say first week was fine but side effects lasted a couple of weeks but I don’t know if it was actually side effects or teething and the cold!

@Rafaela whats your reasoning if you don't mind me asking?

My son has been in hospital with the worst reaction to the 1 years jabs! Without throwing up and diarrhoea, can’t keep anything down and refusing to drink or eat :( Wish I done 1 at A time

How did you go about asking for the jabs not to be all at once do you ask on appointment or before the appointment? He’s booked in but I’m really not loving the 4 at once he’s such a sensitive little boy as it is

@Rebecca before

You need at least 4 weeks gap between jabs

@Anna thank you I will ring the drs and ask for them to be separated from all 4 at once xx

If you want to talk about this I am very happy to message you 🥰

No regrets whatsoever. Yes, it was a horrible few weeks, but I’m content knowing baby is protected now as much as she can be
