Is this the end of our BF journey? 😢😢😢

Someone please help me. I’m absolutely sobbing. I’ve EBF my 14 month old since birth and never had an issue. However, my boy currently has what I believe to be a stomach bug. Since Thursday he’s had multiple diarrhoea nappies a day, and Saturday evening in bed he threw up. Now because he’s been off his food, he’s been asking for the boob more often. So, as he’s always been fed on demand, he’s had it. He’s been having quite a long time on the boob at once, which is unusual for him but I just thought because he was off his food that that was okay? However, for the past 2 days now every time he’s been on the boob, straight after, he’s done a huge watery poop, or he’s had a coughing fit and threw up?????? He doesn’t do this after drinking his water, or eating whatever food I’ve managed to get into him. His breath also smells really bad after feeding!!! Does that mean I’m no good for him now? I’m sobbing at the thought of this being the end of our BF journey as obviously I don’t want to make him worse. Any advice please?

He’s just unwell and things will return to normal don’t panic! We’ve had a couple of stomach bugs and he’d feed and throw up but they passed as quickly as they came. Try feeding little and often. For us the lots of milk at once caused the sickness. When they’re sick it looks like a lot more milk than it is - some is staying down which means LO is retaining some goodness. Your milk is full of antibodies and amazing for LO ❤️

I agree with the above comment too, little one is just poorly. Keep going with food, water and breast milk. It’ll pass. My little one had a stomach bug and all she wanted was boobs and still would be sick after! She also was attached to me when she was poorly and started to increase my supply again due to the demand of only wanting milk more than food. You’re doing a great job! It’s so tough when they’re poorly x
