Help!

Baby current has tonsillitis which is horrible but has been on antibiotics for a few days now so is definitely more himself. He's able to drink water and eat limited solids but is completely off his milk. If he does end up having milk, he then projectile vomits it back up within seconds. Everything else managed to stay down. I'm going to call the doctors this morning but has anyone had the same situation?

Not with tonsillitis but my baby was hospitalised when she was 5 months with a severe gastric bug. She couldnt keep anything down for three days. They made me stop milk and just offer 1oz of dioralyte every 1-2 hours. Once she was tolerating that for a day, I added in milk so 1oz milk and 2oz dioralyte and did that for a day, and then worked up to half and half, then mostly milk and so on. My baby has actually just been recovering from norovirus this week so I did the same with the milk this time (not as extreme) but I did small bottles more often so 4 times a day I offered her 2oz milk with 3oz dioralyte and that seemed to really help. The milk and yoghurt was making her sick but this really helped, worth a try

My little one had tonsillitis about 3 weeks ago and went off food and drink - he'd maybe take a few oz of milk, if that and would only really eat yogurts. After a couple of days of antibiotics he was starting to eat and drink more although he still doesn't take much milk.

Thank you ladies, it's so horrible to see them poorly. I'm usually able to cope okay but with him not having his formula it was really worrying me. Got a Dr appointment this afternoon so will see if they have any other suggestions but your replies have made me feel more at ease already
