I had this im 31 weeks now but last week I got measured and was told it was measuring 27 weeks, I double checked at a scan kind of what it means and apparently it’s a outdated practice that they still do, everyone’s bump is different and it all depends on how baby’s sitting at that time. So I’ve been told to go by the growth scans not the measurement of the bump
I had the same at 28 weeks, got referred for an urgent growth scan and baby was perfect. Sometimes the position baby is lying in can effect the bump measurement, mine was laid sideways so was causing my bump to measure small. Try not to panic 😊
Thank you all that’s very reassuring! She did say he’s head down feet up but back to back, not sure if he’s sitting further into my back than last time maybe? Just so hard not to worry until tomorow! X
I had my first bump measurement today and my bump is measuring quite small but I asked where she is positioned and she's currently right over to one side and tucked back. I take it with a pinch of salt anyway as during my first pregnancy I had a drop in bump measurement and after a growth scan, he was actually measuring big.
I’m 28 weeks and I had my private 4D scan a couple weekends ago and she said baby is measuring at 25 weeks and showing on the 10th percentile. Today I had my bump measured and it’s still measuring on the 10th percentile. She wasn’t going to see me at 31 weeks but wants to see me just to measure the bump rather than going until 35 weeks just to monitor it and if I need growth scans she will refer me but she says it’s based on your build and my little boys birth weight.. I carried small with him too. I wouldn’t worry girl. If anything it’s a good thing for growth scans ☺️ x
I had this Wednesday this week :-) baby was measuring fine and weight fine. X
I've had the same, I was seen just this afternoon as my bump is measuring small, and it turns out my baby is in the 86th centile, I just don't have a big bump! I'd try not to worry xx
I had a bump measurement today at 30 weeks and measured 29cm. This made me drop from the line that a previous midwife measured me at 25 weeks. Midwife recommended a growth scan. However, I felt that the previous midwife was rushing and it was so inaccurate compared to today’s measurement. Not stressing about it, the growth scans are also very inaccurate anyway.
That’s exactly the same as me and the exact same dates too. Thought baby hadn’t grown in the 3 weeks. Went for my growth scan and they said she’s absolutely fine and that the bump measurements are completely inaccurate as everyone measures it differently. Honestly don’t understand why they even do it if it’s inaccurate🤦♀️Hope this helps x
I just had this last week! They measured my bump in the 3rd centile which is quite small and sent me for an emergency scan. Thankfully baby is measuring at a healthy 70th percentile. Don’t worry these measurements have stressed me out a few times too! At our anatomy scan they told me she’s the rest of her body is measuring in the 50th percentile (which is average) but only her abdomen was measuring at 90! This had me sooo stressed I was like I’m going to have a baby with a big tummy. But it’s all back to normal now. Her abdomen is measuring the same as the rest of her! Take the measurements with a grain salt.
I’ve just been for my 28 week midwife appointment today, and my bump is still showing as 24 cm (same as my 24 week appointment), so I’m feeling anxious as they won’t be able to give me a scan until the 27th, but reading these comments has reassured me. I hope everything was ok with your scan! :) xx
I went for my scan and he was absolutely fine, all measurements were normal and the amount of fluid and blood from to and from the placenta spot on. I must just have a smaller bump! Don’t stress xx
I wouldn’t worry bump measurements are so inaccurate, you could get measured by 2 different midwife’s one after another and they can get completely different measurements. It also can depends on how baby is lay and your body weight. Baby can be lay closer to your back meaning your bump is smaller or they could be laying further forward so it’s nothing to worry about. Not everyone has bump measurements either because of the inaccurate measurements they can give
