Bringing kid for scan?

I have a 3 year old and we are pregnant now going for first scan this week. Unfortunately have a miscarriage last year so I am quite nervous about the scan. My husband thinks we can bring my 3yo and we will face whatever comes together 🧡 but I am worried if it is bad news i can’t really let the sadness come if my son is there with us. I know he will be a strength too but just thought that moment I might want to just let my emotions come and if my son is there I will need to care for how he experience that. What do you guys think or what did you do? Did you bring your first born for scan?

My hospital won’t allow under 16’s in for a scan for the reason of bad news and they often turn women around at the desk until they can find childcare. Have you checked with your hospital/ clinic?

I work in the antenatal clinic at my local hospital and we don’t allow children in the scan room at all for that reason . The outcome isn’t always a positive one and it’s unfair x
