Weaning

My little girl is 5 months old and is showing so many signs she’s ready to eat. Today she actually grabbed an entire Yorkshire pudding off my plate and tried to ram it in her mouth (I caught it before she got a taste haha!) when are you all weaning your little ones? I know nhs guidance says 6 months, are you sticking to that or following cues??

I was advised by my GP go start weaning at 5 & a half months. She said that he was strong and ready. I’d definitely suggest getting a book and planning. Good luck!!💜

We've been doing purees since 18 weeks & are now 22 weeks! Plenty people will say not to. But you know your baby best!

@Klaudia so cute! Chomping on his shrimp 😂

@Sophia any books you’d recommend? I was looking at a mix of purées and blw as I’m not brave enough to go fully blw 😆

We have been trying the kendamil porridge first

Chomping on his fillet steak today! (5 months 2 weeks) x

I was advised to start at 4 and a half months, but her stomach wasn't ready so after 2 times I stopped & restarted at 5 and a half months, she is 6 months next week. She's absolutely loving food now.

I’ve introduced baby porridge and baby rice from around 4 and a half months which she has as a breakfast, now at 5 and a half and she’s having puréed veggies and fruits as well around lunch and tea time x

I let my kids lick the food from 4 months to get them aware of different tastes. It makes weaning easier at six months

I like this book - How to Wean Your Baby: The... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1785043242?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It has a nice plan for the first 30 days. My GP recommended Annabel Karmel - Weaning.

I’m only doing purées so far and we’ve given him some Celery sticks to help with teething (they last about 2 mins before thrown on the floor). I want to build my confidence with purées before starting on blw.
