Colostrum harvesting
My midwife gave me 6 syringes for colostrum.
Can I request for more? How often can I collect colostrum? I just tried for the first time and filled a full 1ml syringe from one breast.
Edit: what do I write on the label? Just the date ?

My midwife said today if I need more to just pop in on any weekday and they'll be able to give me another pack
Twice a day! That’s amazing that you got so much at your first attempt. I only managed to get 1ml after 4 attempts within the 24 hour period. The label should have your name, date of birth and the date you expressed.
I was sick of keep asking for more so bought a box of them off amazon, they were the same ones the midwife was giving me and figured the amount I was spending on petrol driving there and back it just made sense to buy my own 🤣 x

My hospital has syringes outside the appointment rooms that are free to take so keep an eye out when you visit your midwife but you can definitely just ask for more too. And yeah you can just label with the date but if you plan to take to the hospital with you then you’ll need to add your name also but you could just do that on the bag/box you’re storing them in 😊
