Partial molar diagnosis

Hi there, after having a missed miscarriage in October this year, I had to have medical management in the hospital to remove the pregnancy tissues. I gave permission for the pregnancy tissues to be analyzed and After two months, the results have come back and have confirmed it was a partial molar. I’m being referred to the specialist centre in Sheffield for monitoring 😢 I am absolutely devastated. I have had my first period after my miscarriage- I just wondered if that was a good sign? Or false hope? My HCG levels were never high, so goes against the typical ‘molar’ pregnancies that are seen. Has anyone been treated at Sheffield before? How was it? Just so scared and upset.

Hi there! First I'd like to say I am so sorry for your loss and all you're going through.♥️ I have no personally been treated at Sheffield, but it is one of the top specialists for molar pregnancies so I assure you you're in good hands. As for your period, if it is truly a period that is a very good sign, as you only get a period once your levels are below 100! This is a relatively small group that I created mostly as a way to direct people to resources. One of the best resources I can steer you towards is a Facebook group called My Molar Pregnancy Support Group - it is a very large group of people from all over the world (many of which have been treated at Sheffield) with the largest source of information I've been able to find so far. I strongly suggest joining that group and taking full advantage of the wonderful info and support that it provides.
