RH- negative blood

Hello! Does anyone else have this blood type? I have it as well as O- blood. Which means I have to take a glucose test and a rhogam shot. It has no risk to this pregnancy but makes me high risk for my next ones if my baby ends up having positive blood. I’m super nervous and keep stressing out even tho I know there’s no risk until after birth but I can’t get it out of my head

I have o positive blood and they never told me this they told me last time with my twins I could get pregnant perfectly fine I’m 25 weeks pregnant I think it depends on ur placenta mine in front of my baby

It matters because I have O- and I am RH—

I am Rh- as well and 30 weeks tomorrow, so I just had my RhoGAM shot (they typically give it to you around 28 weeks). It’s been no sweat for me, but something to keep in mind if you have any trauma to your belly, especially before getting the shot, which is meant to put the antibodies into your blood in case trauma happens. So even a fender bender or falling wrong may be a concern- since they don’t know what blood type your baby is until it is born. Basically, you want to be careful to avoid any trauma that could cause your baby’s blood to come in contact with yours before labor/birth. It’s not something to be scared about, but you may take extra precautions like getting a seat belt holder that pulls the bottom strap away from your belly and instead across your legs. The shot itself hurts because it is intramuscular- do NOT look at the needle before they do it (particularly if you have issues with normal immunizations). I still have my bruise from nearly 2 weeks ago.

Don't stress about it at all! I have had the shot with my last pregnancy everything was dandy, planning to get it here soon with this one. Both pregnancies have seemed normal and healthy.

@Liz actually it’s both positive blood isn’t the greatest to have specially if u have a placenta that’s in the way if I needed blood I’m screwed my child would be screwed

@Norelle I’m O- and had a subchorionic hemorrhage early in my pregnancy and they gave me a rhogam shot very early on as a precaution. My nurse was nice and swapped the needle for a smaller one. The shot was no big deal. However I typically don’t have an issue with needles

So my miscarriage I found out and once I had my dnc I had to get the shot , my almost 1 year old I got it after my glucose test and then again after birth this pregnancy I take it actually next week and then I’ll get the shot again after birth

I’ve always had to get the shot I’m B- just got my shot for this pregnancy yesterday. Never had any issues.
