Suncream

Hi ladies, apparently I should be avoiding normal chemical suncream whilst pregnant, I’m almost 16 weeks. I’m going away in less than 2 weeks and I gave no idea what suncream to get. Any recommendations? Thank you 💛

Babies under 6 months can’t use sun cream but other then that Nivea have a good 1

So… I thought this said “sunscream” 😅 bc we call it sunscreen in the US. I thought “wow she really didn’t proof read this or this is what she actually calls it!” Then I realized it says “ Sun Cream” but one word 🤦🏽‍♀️ It’s time for bed now lol 😅

I’m also looking for recommendations. I went to Tenerife a few months ago and burnt very quickly. I’ll be buying a factor 50 for my next holiday as I felt my skin was so much more sensitive.

I used this when I was pregnant

Aldi have a really good range and one is a good mist spray, can get it in all factors. I used it during my first pregnancy in the Dominican Republic and was fine. Going away next week at 31 weeks Preggo and will use it again. If you feel like your skin is more sensitive I think it’s best to sit in the shade x

@Sophie thank you! Are they mineral based? I’ll go check them out. Luckily I don’t burn easily at all

Tallow or nothing imo. I wouldn't touch sunscreen, especially when pregnant. & that's coming from an Aussie 😂

@Jenna I’ve been wanting to rid it from my life for a while tbh so this is a good time to do it now I know it could hurt my baby! Have you heard of avocado zinc? That’s Aussie and all natural so I’m wonderful if I should try that. I have also looked into tallow too!

Look for mineral sunscreen. But why should you avoid it? Who advised it?

Tropic

@Giselle https://www.parents.com/news/using-chemical-sunscreen-during-pregnancy-may-cause-a-rare-birth-defect/ Apparently it’s becoming advisory to not use certain chemicals! And a lot of the dual sun screens have them in. this is my first pregnancy so I’m not a fountain of knowledge I’m just stumbling through 😂 I have also ready a lot of other stuff about it not being good for the baby. Have a google x

I be honest, I didn’t hear this before I went away, so I used a normal sunscreen. What I would stay is I never normally burn, but my skin was definitely more sensitive, and did catch much more easily if I didn’t stay on the ball. If I went again I’d probably just go with SPF 50 x

Just look for any mineral sunscreen. 😊

Have a look at the Yuka app - it’s actually shocking what goes into some sun creams x

Just use whatever you normally use.

Rowe casa sunscreen

Supergoop is the best for you and for babies!

Oh, I've used the regular kind. I didn't realize we shouldn't use it. I hate mineral sunscreen. It's so gross and sticky 😣🤣
