Also I was told by a private Dr that the median Amh for 30-35 is 5.6 and age 29 is 8 so 10 doesn't seem low?
Interestingly, my low result was a private clinic who pushed me toward ivf. My higher result was NHS who suggested ovulation injections instead. Not sure what to do! Thanks for your thoughts though x
Do you have pcos as this can affect your numbers. I had mine tested in 2020 and was 109.7 and then Jan this year it was 58 and I'm going on 37 this year
No I don’t have pcos but thanks!
Apparently it can be linked to vitamin D too! So could your higher result have come after a period of time where you've had a holiday recently or been taking vitamin D? And your lower one after winter or not been taking vitamin D??
@Chloe that's so interesting I didn't know this! I thought it was the 1 hormone that doesn't fluctuate and only ever decreases with age x
Did they use the same units of measurement? I have heard AMH can go up a bit and also fluctuate but that would be quite a big rise. Good luck with your journey
Thanks so much. It was two different clinics so maybe. Different approach but it was measured in same unit…! I always take vitamin d so nothing different there but sounds like a nice excuse for a holiday !
I asked that exact question to my doctor last week. He said AMH does fluctuate. In the same way your Antral follicule count goes up and down throughout your cycle. I had 18 AMH and then 26 6 months later. My doctor said that’s fine and fluctuation happen. Does not mean that your egg reserve changed. That’s why the bandings of normal are so wide!
I had the exact same! Age 29, AMH 7.8. Private test at 30 and it was 16...no answer but interested if anyone does!
