Get your bloods checked from GP for sex hormones, blood count, iron levels, vitamin levels, liver, kidney function tests and thyroid.
Are you breastfeeding at all? When you say 8 cycles I'm assuming you mean 8 months? If so this is within the realms of normal for conceiving. A GP would do tests post one year of trying and potentially refer you but usually closer to the 2 year mark if you have no other reasons to have difficulty conceiving.
My husband and I took 11 cycles to conceive and that is still considered a ‘average’/‘normal’ time frame. I know completely how disappointing each failed month is, I have been there, but allow your body and mind some grace and time. however, it is a good idea to speak to your GP about it and get the ball rolling with them and some blood tests. I know it’s difficult but just keep going and keep the faith x
@Reena hi not breastfeeding and yes 8 cycles because my cycles aren’t exactly the same each month they alternate in length ( one longer next a Shorter next longer next shorter ) this means it’s not quite 8 months but 8 full cycles x
It took us 2.5 years to conceive, we were waiting for an assessment at a private clinic when we caught. The only thing we did differently was to take his and hers proceive multivitamins. We started them on 17th April and I got my positive on 22nd May. My partner did all the research into them and said he wanted us to try these ones so I ordered them on Amazon (cheaper than in stores) My periods were so irregular we couldn't track them - they were ranging anywhere from 28-35.
Have you had blood done to check all your levels are ok? After we had a miscarriage, it took us a year to conceive again, after about 8/9 months my GP did bloods and I was low on a couple things so was given medication to get my levels up. I was also referred to a fertility clinic but we ended up getting pregnant just as I was waiting for my period to go to them for testing. So could be something simple like that or ask your GP for a referral if you’ve not already x
@Nicola no not yet, I spoke to my dr after a chemical and he just wasn’t bothered - I think now I’m going to perhaps ask for someone different and see if they can do a blood test for me x
@Em as others have said 8 months is still considered normal, so doctors may just say they won't intervene until after 12 or more.
@Kathryn we were also taking proceive his and her 👌 he was taking the men's Max powder one.
In addition to all the suggestions above, I would recommend give yourself enough rest/good sleep, reduce stress as much as possible, eat well: green vegs, fruits, nuts( Brazil nuts, walnut...) and give your body time, good luck 💕
The first time I fell pregnant I... - used easy@home ovulation test strips twice a day and logged using the premom app for 2 months before ttc, then then first month ttc. - used the Femsense Body Temperature patch alongside their app the first month ttc to double check ovulation time frame. - had been taking, along with partner, the proceive preconception vitamins (the his and her ones) for 6 months before ttc. - Baby danced at least every other day during fertile window. When my period came that first month I was gutted, cried alot, and then remembered that stressing about it can affect fertility. I still was sad, but decided I'd do a month without tracking - just regular bd-ing from before fertile window til after. I also began using my Menstral cup to 'hold' the semen in after for an hour or so. I fell pregnant that second month, but unfortunately had a mmc.
I went to my GP after I hadn’t conceived baby #2 within 6 months of trying - sent me for blood tests and an ultrasound scan. Always worth talking to your GP! Everything came back okay and I fell after 9 months so keep trying 💗
Hi lovely. If you’re over 36, you can actually see your GP after 6 months of TTC (unsuccessfully). And if you’re under 36, it’s 12 months. That said, it’s probably worth contacting your GP and getting the ball rolling, especially since you haven’t had issues previously 💗
@Chloé thank you! I’m 31. But iv been having very short luteal phase and that’s why I was considering the dr c
