Why wouldn’t it be safe? If you have a look at the NHS website there is a full list of what to avoid x

So hummus is made with tahini and tahini is made out of sesame butter. Sesame is a major high alergen which needs to be offered and monitored for an allergic reaction same as diary and nuts etc. I would absolutely offer it to the baby, however just be cautious if you haven’t tested your baby for sesame it might cause a reaction. And watch out for any added salt etc ☺️

@Weronika I was assuming she meant eating it herself, but I could be wrong

@Mish ahh my bad you are right! Yes as far as I’m aware raw sesame seeds are also a salmonella risk, products such as tahini, halva and hummus. If the sesame has been treated with heat then it’s perfectly safe to eat. I would recommend making your own and roast the sesame seeds :)

I've heard it's super estrogenic, idk if that'd be harmful or not to a pregnancy. I haven't looked into it too much but, that's just what I've heard

@Autumn even if it were, as it's plant oestrogen it does not impact the human body. Dairy contains mammalian oestrogen and does impact but won't be harmful in small doses.

I’ve eaten it all the way through both of my pregnancies with no issues

Thank you, I was eating it and someone said not to so I panicked 🫣. X

me currently eating it as I read this.. I don’t worry about anything that’s not widely discussed.
