Missed miscarriage

Does anyone know how common a missed miscarriage is? I hate to keep thinking about it but I’ve had very mild symptoms my whole pregnancy and waiting for the 12 week scan is giving me anxiety! We had one at 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat and all looked good. Ive not had any bleeding or signs leading to miscarriage but reading peoples stories about getting to the 12 week scan and the baby has died etc is stressing me out!

I had one at 17 weeks . Baby passed away around 16 weeks . Only found out on the private gender scan if we didn’t have it I wouldn’t have found until the 20weeks Nhs scan . I had no idea that it could happen so late 😭 I’m 10+5 now and I’m also stressing out as I don’t have any symptoms apart from tiredness but I’m always tired even when not pregnant . I’m debating booking another private scan even tho I had 3 scans already . I think I will stop worrying as much once I start feeling the kicks

Please don’t worry about symptoms I had barely any symptoms with my son’s pregnancy and it was very healthy. I was full of nausea with my last and sadly had a missed miscarriage. Xx

It's as common as a miscarriage because it's the same thing. You only find out earlier because of modern scans. There's about a 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 chance sadly BUT after a heartbeat is seen at a scan that risk drops significantly so you're in a good place. You can't ever control the outcome really but take every little thing as a good sign things are going OK. Xx

I'm exactly the same as you. Had that 6-week scan and saw the heartbeat but spend every second worried it's happened again. I was told that it's incredibly rare to have 2 missed miscarriages in a row when I went to EPAC. So I'm just leaning on that ❤️

Same Incognito! I’ve honestly worried myself to the point of crying more than once. The chances are SO small of a MMC, about 1% at the 12 week scan an online source said. So try not to worry, we may read the incredibly sad stories but have to remember the successful ones too. Much love x

I saw a little heartbeat at 6 weeks and was told by the sonographer that the size it was and the heart beat were very promising and it would be rare for anything to happen after confirming that but it seems every time I come on this app there’s sad and scary stories about losses, when I told my boss I was expecting he shared with me that he had had two stillborns which is horrific to go through but I’m not sure it’s the best thing to tell an expecting mum in her first trimester, as rude as it sounds I am trying to ignore the posts and mentions of losses, it might sound ignorant and careless but mentally I don’t think we need our heads filled with all the upsetting and few cases of losing a pregnancy, they’ll eat away at me if I let it, these are obviously just my options and I don’t want to offend anyone ♥️
