Hi dear, yes I had both tubes removed due to ectopic pregnancies

Hey! Yes, I had both of my tubes removed before I did any IVF treatment due to them severely damaged and blocked. Happy to answer any questions.

Hi I had one tube removed and then was told I would most probably need IVF 7 months later I conceived naturally x

Aww thank you so much for your replies ❤️ we have been TTC for over 4 years and found out last week it’s probably down to my blocked tube 😢 it courses me a lot of pain each month and they have said I’m also high risk if I catch naturally of a ectopic Pregnancy. Iv also been told that the wait for this on NHS could be two years 😢 Iv never had an op before either so I’m really nervous about it but I know if we don’t have it we probably won’t get the chance to be parents

Have they not tried the laparoscopic with the dye test. To see if that helps unblock the tube?

Iv had the dye test I think it’s called a HSG that’s when they found the blockage I’m soo not great with all the tec terms but she said it’s full of fluid and needs to come out and leaks toxins into my uterus

Fingers crossed that the operation comes soon for u to then heel and have a consultation with the IVF term so u know your next steps and how long it should take. Sending baby dust your way ❤️

@Sophie really? The gynaecologist said I need to have my tube out before I have IVF I said because of the waiting time on NHS what if I funded it privately or they suggested I can have IVF privately and her worlds was “ you will be putting your money down the drain having IVF with the tube still there “ 🤦🏼‍♀️ tbh they haven’t even told me much just I have a blocked tube and needs to come out 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t no if it’s really bad or not because I told them my periods since having the dye test have been soooo much better I did have antibiotics after the dye test

Thank you so much for your reply ❤️ I think me and my husband are going to look into private options in the summer holidays and maybe il ask for a second opinion because they have said all the tests are good my bloods ect just this tube needs to come out and that’s it 🤦🏼‍♀️ but we have been TTC for many years now xx

I had my right tube removed. We went through half a round of ivf, so stims and egg retrieval we ended up with one embryo, had to wait 2 months to put it back due to Xmas holidays. In those holidays, we ended up falling pregnant naturally 🥰 I would personally take it out because the tube could be leaking bad stuff into your uterus, and if it's blocked, it's useless being in there anyway But get a second opinion

I have had a tube removed due to a blockage. I looked into the evidence and found out that having a blockage tends to reduce chance of pregnancy both naturally and IVF by about 50%. I think the theory is that the blockage causes toxins to build up in the area of the blockage and makes the uterus less ‘friendly’ for implantation. It’s not impossible to conceive with a blocked but still present tube assuming other side ok, just reduces the chances. I was pretty upset to lose the tube as I felt like it was reducing my chances but actually I don’t think it was doing me my good being there and blocked. Still on my IVF journey and have some other factors but that’s my experience. Good luck x
