Had it for longer than I should have tbh. As far as being on birth control, it was great. No maintenance, no period, and it worked. (My first was conceived on a different bc) Insertion really didn't hurt to me, but the first one theg placed came out on its own a week or so later. I got it a little after my first was 6 months so maybe my cervix was more relaxed? Placed another one and it was great. Removal was fine too. They insert it while on your period because they need your cervix slightly open to insert it. You don't want them manually opening it. I will say how you'd cervix is will probably effect the pain. My friend had a tilted cervix so they had to grab it for Inserting and she said it killed. My cervix is higher up but not tilted.
I had have it in it’s been 7 months I was constantly bleeding and hurting and it kept falling out plus it has a lot of hormones
I had it for 5yrs and not a problem till I had a cyst burst at the same time I was on my period. So that made it hurt like a MF! It had been like 3months shy of 5yrs so I had them take it out. I DID NOT have any prior pregnancies b4 getting the Mirena. But I did just fine. It did hurt for the 1st few days, but that was normal. They do prefer to insert it when your on your period bc there's a less chance of you being pregnant. (At least that's what my experience was and what I was told). There r some more things I can tell u about, but they're more personal. If you'd like feel free to message me. I just don't want to put the really personal stuff on social media.
