Personally I like the implant and I’ve had the pill & injection I just find the implant more practical as I don’t have to worry about pregnancy for 3 years lol and periods have always been fine! Xx

I actually can't have contraception and haven't been able to for the last 4 years. I have endometriosis and adenomyiosis and the hormones in contraceptives are so bad for my body, the only last resort was the mirena coil and my body is so swollen in that area it rejected it and pushed it out. I use the family planning method, I started with an app called natural cycles and using a thermometer to track and then as the years went by and I grew accustomed to how my body worked I stopped using the thermometer and monitored in other ways and used the Flo app. I personally don't agree with contraceptives now I was pushed onto them at 13 years old when I showed signs of my now diagnosed chronic illnesses and stayed on them until I was 26 and they destroyed my body, being free from them has been the best thing I ever did

Thank you all ♥️

@Saran my cousin also can't take hormonal contraception and uses the diaphragm with spermicidal lube. I personally wouldn't trust the family planning method.

I was on the progesterone only pill for years and it always worked for me. I didn't really choose that pill, I was put on it because I was overweight as a teen, but I think it always seemed less intrusive than the estrogen ones everyone else was on.

I think it’s a very individual choice :) I’ve tried a few different contraceptive pills in the past and they didn’t work for me because of the additional hormones and also having to remember to take them each day (but I know others have had no/minimal problems with them). I had the copper coil for 5 years and, although painful to put in, it was brilliant for me because there are no hormones and my periods returned to normal pretty much as soon as I had it taken out (and I got pregnant a few months later!)

@Emmo I think it's each to their own, it's worked for years for me and I am fortunate to be in a very good marriage that if I were to fall pregnant again we would be delighted. Our little girl was planned for and we conceived within the first week of trying (much to doctors surprise given my health issues) so I know it works for me. I am very vigilant with it though and have spent a long time learning about my body so I can ease my chronic illnesses 😊
