Breastfeeding while pregnant

So I’m currently 14 weeks (about to be 15) and my 2 1/2 yo was still nursing quite often. I’m noticing my milk supply has dropped a lot if not almost all the way gone, so I was wondering if my daughter stopped nursing would I then avoid having to drop feeds little by little so I wouldn’t get engorged or anything? Like does losing milk during pregnancy totally get rid of the typical weaning process?

Often older babies stop breastfeeding while their mother is pregnant as the supply natural drops so it is likely you won't have a problem with engorgement if you stop feeding.

It’s normal for your milk to dry up around then, you shouldn’t feel engorged but just see how you go. My toddler continued to dry nurse throughout my pregnancy which wasn’t uncomfortable

@Jessica wow dry nursing… I never heard of that, but that may be what my toddler is doing now. Obviously they still enjoy the comfort of it, which I don’t mind aside from how sensitive I am right now 🥴 but I can deal with it for now, I think lol

@Justine yes it’s essentially for comfort as they get little to no milk but as long as you are both happy there’s no harm in carrying on that way - know what you mean about the sensitivity though! My toddler was more interested in feeding again after I gave birth and had milk again - it actually helped with the initial engorgement as my newborn was only taking small amounts of milk at a time. He soon lost interest though and thankfully was ok with baby having boob all the time. It’s been a couple of weeks since our last feed so think we have finished now which is ok as I always wanted him to wean naturally
