Dang girl! I’m sorry you’re going through this right now! I have anxiety disorders, ptsd, adhd and major depressive disorder reoccurring. I’m on zoloft(antidepressant) gabapentin 300mg 3x a day(for anxiety and panic attacks) I also used to take 30mg of adderall a day for my adhd but they have this shortage going on right now and I haven’t been able to fill a prescription only partial sometimes like 12 pills or 24 was the biggest and that was a few weeks ago. Maybe ask your psychiatrist or doctor about gabapentin!? It’s really helped me and I also have Xanax for if I was having an emergency but with the gabapentin I haven’t needed to use my Xanax in months now! It doesn’t seem to have any side effects that I have noticed! I don’t feel like I do when I take my Xanax. It’s not sedating or anything and I have no foggyneess. Do you have a psychiatrist you can see? Or a therapist? I hope you do.
Focus on the basics and the things you can control. Try to get good sleep. Spend time with supportive friends and family. Eat nourishing food and drink water. Exercise in a way that you enjoy. Try to disconnect from your phone for extended periods. Focus on and enjoy the times and areas of your body that are healthy. Write down your thoughts so they don't keep repeating in your head. Take your medications and follow your doctor's instructions. Make an appointment if you feel your meds need to be adjusted. Talking to a therapist can also help. I hope you are able feel more at ease soon. ❤️
@Kira I’m currently on sertraline 150mg I’m so anxious about everything my meds my health my crohns it just seems to be getting More frequent and I’m having small panic attacks almost daily 😔 so think a drs appointment may be needed xx
@Michelle S Thankyou will try this 🩷
I’m not good at identifying them and warding them off before a full blown panic attack, but once I get there and am choking to breathe, I immediately throw my a** on the floor wherever I am with my legs bent and knees up and stick my head between my legs. Within a handful of second I’m able to breathe properly again. Quickly I’m able to get out of that position and I just stay focused on my breathing for a few minutes so I don’t fall into another panic attack and clear my mind of whatever the trigger was until I can handle it later.
I have also heard from my therapist that anything that strongly engages one or more of your senses will pull you out.
Definitely talk to a psychiatric provider. I have gen anxiety disorder & mild OCD. I used to be a complete wreck before I got on medication. It took a few tries to find the right thing, but once I did my life changed. I’ve been on the same combo for 3 years now and I barely remember what I used to feel like. I’m on 300mg fluvoxamine (antidepressant) and 250mg lamictal (mood stabilizer). Lamictal helps keep my mood level throughout the day. I recently increased my dose a little bc I was having moments of rage since having my son last year. Now they’re gone
I have been going through the exact same thing at the moment aswell I usually make a chamomile tea when I feel it coming on and try and hop into bed (if I can) and watch a childhood show for me h20 just add water pulls me in right out of it. It’s honestly the worst but just remember to you are not gonna feel like this forever 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Put baby in a safe space get as low as you can, head between your knees until you get your breath back.
Grab a couple ice cubes and place under your eyes on on the back of your neck. So some real deep and slow breathing for a good minute or two.
