Oh wow that's crazy! I only lost 500ml
I lost 1600ml in my c section, and didn’t get a transfusion. I’m 5ft 2. I felt weak for at least two months, and finally feel better.
I lost 1.4ltrs they warned me that i might need a blood transfusion and monitored me every few hrs over 24hrs but i was ok, just low iron x
I lost 300ml according to my surgical report.
I lost 1.5 litres in my c section and had to have a blood transfusion and an iron infusion x
I lost 1700ml and wasn’t given anything didn’t think much of it at the time but looking back my heart rate wouldn’t stabilise afterwards and I was in recovery for hoursssss and then ended up having an internal infection 1 week later - not sure if there’s a link between any of that but my GP was shocked at the 8 week check that I wasn’t given anything! I’m also 5ft!
I lost just over 2 liters of blood during my cesarean. And I'm only 4'11. They gave me 2 iron transfusions
I lost 850ml after my forcep vaginal delivery. Anything over 500ml they class as a haemorrhage x
I was told about 500ml at the time but according to hospital notes it was about 450ml
I lost 200ml which they said was amazing - I also requested delayed cord clamping.
I haemorrhaged too and am also 5’1. They said I lost about 1 liter & offered a blood transfusion but we opted for two iron bags instead under close monitoring. I was then sent home with iron pills. 💕
I lost 1400ml. I am taller than you at 5”7. I was given iron afterwards due to my red cell count & haemoglobin levels.
I lost 3 units of blood during c section (no transfusion needed) 30 minutes later found out my cervix ripped and was internally bleeding lost another unit while on my way to the OR (transfusion needed at this point) and during surgery number 2 lost 7 more. So In total 11 units. I had more donor blood in me than my own as the body holds approximately 10 units of blood total.
@Shannon Gosh, I may not have been far from the threshold then! I was given 6 weeks of iron tablets, which were agony, and it took about 5 weeks to feel human again. Sounds like it was pretty intense for you, did it take long recover?

@Alhaj wow that's a huge loss! Hope your recovery was ok
@Wenshu Huang gosh! That must have been really hard looking after a newborn in those first 2 months whilst feeling weak. It was hard enough it being a month or so for me! Used it as an excuse to visit steak houses once a week 😋
Around 675mls c section
don’t know how much i lost but did need an iron transfusion. They said it was a considerable amount
I lost around 1L because I got placenta abruption so I need to get emergency c section, I was on anaemic before pregnant but then normal but back to anaemic again and got iron transfusion.
@Alisha same thing with me and I'm 5 feet tall. 2 liters and 2 transfusions. They used a Jada device to help stop the hemorrhaging. It's was pretty scary
I lost 475mls of blood in my C-section which was good apparently. Not sure what the limit is before they give and transfusion x
I think I lost 700ml for my c section
I lost 1.5l - didn’t get the transfusion, but had to stay in hospital for monitor an extra day. And I got the iron tablets to take home. I know exactly what u mean by them leaving you in agony 🫣 they were awful
2litres, had a blood transfusion & were debating doing a second x
I lost over 1000ml and that was classed as a haemorrhaged but j didn't need a blood transfusion as your body can make it up
Only 350ml they did say it was lower then average, I was on iron tablets already too so I assumed that helped after ☺️
I lost 2L with my vaginal and 400ml with my c section x
I lost 870ml, didn’t need a blood transfusion, got discharged the next day
Yes it took a long time, I’m 6 weeks PP now and finally feeling more alive and like myself! Still on iron tablets for another 3 months too. Hope you’re feeling better now!
I lost 950ml in my c section and didn’t have a transfusion and my first c section I lost 700ml
