Sleeping on the floor?

Hi, I just recently joined! We moved our daughter to a floor bed at 7 months (we have a crib still, technically, but the front is off of it so she can climb out). She's 14 months now and about a month ago we started a nighttime routine and leave her in her room awake. She has no issues with this, even waves to tell us to leave after we set her on her bed. BUT as soon as we walk out every night she gets up and crawls/walks over to the floor to go to sleep 🤦🏻‍♀️ sometimes she plays till she sleeps and sometimes literally crawls a few feet off her bed and then lays down. She seems to like the floor more lol Does anyone also have a kiddo who likes to sleep on the floor? Any tips for getting them to sleep on the mattress? I'm fine with her sleeping on the floor if she wants, it just doesn't seem comfortable 😂

Hello. My twins do the same thing. Sometimes one will be sleeping on the floor while other baby is on the bed. They are 16 months old but we’ve used a floor bed since they were 6 months old. They usually eventually move onto the bed. But if I can see they are safe and they don’t mind. I don’t see why not.

That’s totally normal! This is part of Montessori and floor beds in general. Your baby has freedom and independence to sleep where she wants. Try to not have as many toys/books accessible at night so it’s not overstimulating to keep her awake. But it sounds like she does great at putting herself to sleep! You are winning mama!!! Eventually she might start going back to bed but I’d argue that she might be more comfy on the floor if she seems to prefer it haha 🤣
