My little boy is the same he can be loud himself , but as soon as there's a sudden loud noise like sirens or hand dryers he doesn't like it and covers he's ears as I sometimes forget his ear muffs he's hasn't been diagnosed yet but we on a waiting list I been told for autism and he's going to the doctors next week to see about adhd
@Lottie ask about sensory processing disorder at the ADHD appointment
@Skyla thanks Ill try remember to ask
Haha, this is very typical of our kids and I say this all of the time. I have sensory issues big time with loud or sudden noises and I keep saying “please don’t do that noise while I’m driving, you know how loud or fast sounds hurt your head and scare you? It’s the same to mommy so you have to use your regular voice for me like I do for you”.
SPD is common in those with ADHD and/or autism. I bought ear muffs for my kids and silicone chewlery for chewing issues.
