Kids dad buying stuff you told him not to

My kids father and I live separately. Our 2 year old is going through a “ explore himself phase” he literally whips it out and pees everywhere. Especially when he is in bed and on his way to sleep. He loves to pee out the cracks of his crib and even pour his milk out. I’ve removed his rug from his room and told his dad about this . His dad told me he would start potty training him. He has not. His proceeds to buy a rug for his room. I tell him to return it as it will not be used. He’s upset because he feels I’m not including him in decorating his room when I e already told him I’ve removed the previous rug because he pees on it. I also asked him if he buy any pillows because of this make sure they are machine washable. He buys a pillow that is not machine washable. He says he will buy black out curtains we agree on tan. He purchases green because he likes the color. Nothing in our kids room that I’ve purchased matches the curtains. I say all of this now I sound like the bad guy. Am I?
