Has your baby been checked for tongue tie? My little one struggled to latch at first. I went to a breast feeding clinic and found he was tongue tied, and we had it cut at 4 weeks old. 17 months in and my boy is still breast feeding x
Our midwife recommended minbie bottles with our LB to not disturb the bf process. He’s 10 weeks now and we still give him top ups with bottle but he’s mostly breastfed. Minbie’s teats resemble your nipple making them work harder for the milk, just like they would if they were on the breast. Good luck, you got this!
@Brenda P thanks. Had a look and these look great. Are these self sterilising too?
Hi! We combi fed because my son struggled with latch. We always tried latching first before offering any formula or expressed milk. You and baby are both figuring this out, go easy on yourselves. It took a few months for my son to get a good latch consistently . If you always offer booby first then he's less likely to develop a bottle preference. Also, his saliva is what tells your milk what it needs to be for him, so that's the other reason latching is important. Look into a lactation consultant. Look into la leche league! Position can help greatly, some positions work better at times than others .... Every baby is different.... If baby started out smaller than expected... It will likely take time for those cute chubby cheeks to come in.... That actually helps them do better at latching.... Position baby at booby... And smash face into booby ... Hugs momma
