Absolutely nothing to worry about at that age

Our 13 month old is the same. We discussed with our health visitor, but they said its not a cause for concern at the moment 🙂

Absolutely nothing to worry about at this age. Just for future reference, I’d avoid telling him “say this say that, what is this” etc as it may put pressure to children and actually refrain from talking. Also for words counting, only spontaneous words counts so even if you tell him “say mama” and he says it it won’t count as a word as he need to say it spontaneously and with meaning. Read him books, sings songs and narrate everything you do and see (especially when you’re outside) and he’ll pick up the words.

The nhs don’t even do anything about it until the age of 3. If you still have concerns age 2 then ask for a hearing test and raise it at the 2 year review.

Absolutely normal.

My LO is only 4 months so have no personal experience, but my husband didn’t start talking until he was 7 and he is perfectly fine so definitely nothing to worry about 😅

Don’t worry. My daughter is 15m and ahead or on time at everything except speech. She has literally just this week learnt to say mama and dada because before it was just mamamama and dadadadada at a push
