Manchester North General C-section

Hi everyone, I'm having to be booked in for a section and I'm being moved to Manchester North due to no space at my original hospital. Just wondering about people's experiences there with a c-section? Just a little anxious as I've never been there before and don't know where anything is or what parking etc is like! TIA x

Parking,in my opinion is awful, there's a bit down the diabetes department, sometimes can find a place there, we managed at 12 oclock, the staff are lovely (again my opinion) I didn't have a c C-section so couldn't tell you anything about that, good luck!

I had ti have ny little boy via c section there in June and they were amazing 🫶🏻 I 10000% will be going there when I have another bc they were so supportive and helpful ❤️

@Paige thank you, that's made me feel much better! 😊😊

If music helps as well, you can put some music on, mine was an emergency section after being at 2 different hospitals and they put some music on for me and one of them even sang with me to help me breathe bc I was terrified. Good luck with everything, you'll do amazing ❤️

I agree parking is awful, give yourselves plenty of time to find a space, it's usually one in one out. I had a c section there and it was amazing. I'd planned a section, then my waters broke a few days before but I didn't go into labour and still wanted a section, do it was then classed as emergency though me and baby were both fine. It just meant I had to wait until they could fit me in and ended up going down with no notice but all the staff were amazing. Very calm, felt very safe as they went through all their checks beforehand, it was so quick and the immediate aftercare was great too. On the ward I struggled moving and couldn't pick up my baby during the night from her crib but I just rang the bell and someone came to help. I had no complaints or issues at all. Good luck with it x

@Rebecca thank you, just feeling a little anxious as it's a new place for me, I'm glad everything went well for you, fingers crossed it's the same for me, you've made me feel a little calmer 😊😊 x

@Tegan @Paige @Rebecca hi ladies, do you happen to remember what the visiting hours were at North Manchester? I know my partner can be there till 10 but not sure about others, Tia xx

Hey I had a c-section there 10 weeks ago. The theatre is amazing and the nurses and surgeons look after you, but the recovery on the ward was horrendous as I was being practically forced out of bed 3 hours after a spinal block after telling them I couldn’t move.
