Listening

Does anyone else’s child just not listen at all? He was three at the end of April and has very selective hearing. Constantly doing the wrong thing and ignores all instructions until the mention of something being taken away or leaving somewhere and he instantly heard what I had been saying all along! I feel like my parenting is so in effective I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong/what I’m supposed to be doing. 😫

Going through it too

Yes, mine is going through this phase too!

I read a really good book called ‘how to talk so little kids will listen’ which has really helped. Also ‘the whole brain child’, both give really good strategies! X

🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ amazing they can’t hear you shouting “tidy up time” but can hear you whisper “do you want pizza?” isn’t it!

Yep! This is my son at the moment. Wasn't sure if it was an age thing or because I'm 38 weeks pregnant and baby sister will be here soon and he doesn't quite know what's going on

@Lisa I have a 4month old.. he was fine when baby arrived but it got very tough around 2/3 week mark. Hopefully your little one won’t react like mine did at that stage but if they do it get so so much easier. He’s absolutely amazing with his little sister now. It’s just me he doesn’t listen to 😫

@Rebecca Absolutely! 😂

@Sophie thank you, I’ll have a look!

@Sophie can you remember if it was by Joanna Faber or Adele Faber? X

Yes 😭 😭 with a newborn too I’m struggling! 💗🩵 sending hugs!

@Sophie thanks you.. deffinitely getting it after the morning we’ve had 😂

@Lori I feel your pain. We have a 4month old too. Xx

The lack of sleep is a killer! 😴 hoping your two littles are getting on ok 💗🩵
