Toilet training - tips?

Hello! my little boy starts preschool in September and goes to school the following September. He turns 3 end of August. I said to the nursery (which is also my work) that I would try and get my boy toilet trained during summer hols so that he’s toilet trained for preschool. So I thought I’d dedicate a week of intense potty training but need tips on the best things to do for toilet training! He does go for a wee once or twice a day on the toilet, but obviously still wears his nappy and wees in it so I need toilet training tips to help me, thank you! x

First thing is to remove the nappy completely, then offer them to go every time you go. And keep asking them during the day if they need to go. First few days a daunting, but they'll get the hang of it eventually

I have recently potty trained my twin boys! We are still struggling with poos on the potty/toilet at the moment but all Wees are done on the potty/toilet. We are still in nappies at naptime and overnight though! I was putting them on the potty every 20/30 mins for the first 3 days and then gradually increased that time in between! The best way is to be nappy and pant free but my boys hate being naked so had to go with pants and shorts from day one. I would say it took a good 7/9 days for them to fully get it. Also I found I always make sure that before/after an activity I encourage them to use the potty/toilet. Xx

We are in the same situation and just been really successful. Say goodbye to the nappies! If wearing one they become lazy as it's easier to wee in a nappy. Also they hate to sensation of being wet so they use the potty to avoid wetting themselves. My daughter now always uses a potty for a wee and only took a day after saying goodbye to nappies! X
