Clogged milk ducts

I’m pumping every 3 hours (trouble with breastfeeding) and try to drain as much as possible, but I’m still getting clogged milk ducts, not going away. Anyone else experienced this? Does sunflower lecithin really work? Any known side effects on mom or baby? Would love your advice.

I’m going through the same right now. I’ve read that drinking lots of fluids, icing the breast, taking ibuprofen for inflammation and sunflower lecithin all help. I just bought the sunflower lecithin and I’m hoping for relief. Let me know how you make out. Good luck!!

@Jennifer thanks, I’m about to put sunflower lecithin in my cart & was going over all the reviews. It seems to have different effects on people regarding milk supply and gassy baby. Fingers crossed 🤞 it works for us

Have you tried the Haaka method?

@Chanté with epsom salt and water? Not yet, was just reading about it. Does it work?

@Div I’ve never had a clogged duct but it seems to be the popular method.

For clogged ducts I used the Frida mom warming massager while in the shower. Let the warm water hit your chest.

Make sure your bra is not too tight.

Use warm clothes on your breasts and massage or take a hot shower and let the water hit ‘em while massaging

I use a heating pad while pumping if my breasts are hurting particularly bad because of them being clogged, mine will just have a whole strip of it being clogged while the rest of the breast is fine. I concentrate the heat in that area and take tylenol. Usually takes an entire day to go away. Also, try massaging it. Not too hard or you could damage your milk duct

I’m only 13 weeks and I think I’ve got one already. Is that even possible?
